A Wonderful Spring Foray in Borsdane Wood

We were delighted to welcome visitors to Borsdane Wood for our recent Spring Foray Walk, led by Dave Winnard.

As the group explored the woodland together, Dave shared his knowledge of the plants, birds and fungi that make Borsdane such a rich and fascinating place to visit at this time of year. Walks like this are a wonderful way to slow down, look more closely, and discover just how much there is to see in the wood.

It was lovely to hear how much the event was enjoyed by those who attended. One visitor said they had come away with “a whole new appreciation for Borsdane Wood” and thanked both Dave and the Friends Group for making the experience possible. Another described it as “such a privilege to hear Dave and learn about plants, birds, and fungi”, adding that he is “a mine of information”.

Others simply summed the afternoon up as “fascinating” and said how much they had enjoyed it.

We are very grateful to Dave Winnard for leading the walk and sharing so much of his knowledge so generously, and to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a warm and enjoyable event.

Borsdane Wood has so much to offer through the seasons, and events like this help people connect more deeply with the wildlife, history and character of this special place. We look forward to welcoming more visitors on future walks later in the year.

If you would like to find out what other guided walks and events are coming up this year, please take a look at this post.

Thank you again to everyone who came along.
