Our final organised walk of 2026 took place today (18 October 2026), with 26 people joining Dave Winnard for another fascinating Fungi Foray through Borsdane Wood.

We were treated to a lovely sunny afternoon, although there was a definite autumn coolness in the air as the group headed into the wood. This time we ventured a little further than usual and were rewarded with lots of different varieties of fungi along the way.

As always, Dave was an absolute mine of information, sharing his knowledge in an engaging and accessible way and giving everyone plenty of opportunity to ask questions. The two-hour walk seemed to race by and was very much appreciated by everyone who joined us.

A huge thank you to Dave Winnard for once again giving his time and expertise, and to everyone who came along and helped make our final arranged walk of the season such an enjoyable afternoon.
