Green Crew Help Prepare Rayner Park for Future Planting

Visitors to Rayner Park may have noticed some recent activity at the far end of the park, where members of the Green Crew have been busy clearing and strimming an area of overgrown vegetation.

Their hard work has helped open up the space, providing a welcome improvement to the park and laying the groundwork for possible future planting.

The Friends of Borsdane Wood and Rayner Park hope to develop this area further, with the aim of introducing plants and flowers that will bring additional colour to the park while providing benefits for local wildlife.

There is still some preparation to be done before any planting can begin, including clearing remaining roots from the site. We are also grateful to Joel from Lancashire Wildlife Trust, who has kindly offered to come along and lend a hand during November.

A big thank you to everyone involved in the Green Crew’s work, and to Lorraine for sharing photographs of their efforts. It’s encouraging to see different groups working together to improve our local green spaces.

We’ll share further updates as plans for the area develop.

If you’d like to get involved in helping to care for Rayner Park or Borsdane Wood, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you can spare a little time volunteering or would like to support future projects, every contribution makes a difference. Please fill in the contact form over on our contact page and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Many thanks!
